- DIMAPUR — The
Dimapur Watsu Telongjem (DWT) has expressed deep concern and dismay over the
sexual harassment allegations levelled against IAS officer Reny Wilfred by
female employees of the Investment and Development Authority of Nagaland
(IDAN).
- In a note, the DWT said these are not isolated accusations,
and there have been similar harassment allegations against him earlier. Despite
these serious accusations, it is troubling that he continued to hold a position
of authority.
- Stating that sexual harassment and assault are acts of
violence, exploitation, and control, it added that allegations of such repeated
behaviour, especially by a high-ranking government official, send a chilling
message, and such abuse of power must be held accountable at the earliest.

- Commending those who have come forward to speak against him,
the DWT said it will stand with them hand in hand. It demanded a thorough,
impartial investigation into the allegations and called on all institutions to
prioritise transparency, accountability, and the safety of all female
employees.
- It also lauded the Nagaland State Commission for Women for
taking the initiative and lodging the complaint with the police, as well as the
government for suspending Wilfred's service.
- “We urge the government to initiate a complete and
transparent disciplinary proceeding ensuring accountability and punishment in
accordance with law,” it concluded.
