Dimapur, Sep. 23: The Dimapur Traffic police personnel are on a mission to assist the public and ease the problem of commuters, especially the driver taking the New Dhansiri Bridge route.
It was on July 16, 2018 that the Dimapur Traffic police of Zone-I decided to take it upon themselves to repair the stretch of road between the entry to New Dhansiri Bridge and Walford area near Lorna's School.
On Sunday Sep. 23, the Dimapur Traffic police of Zone-II took over the responsibility to repair the portion of the road near New Dhansiri Bridge which connects Walford to Supermarket with their resources.
The stretch is terrifying for drivers because of its slope and the traffic police regulating the traffic movement have a hard time directing traffic. If this alternative road can be repaired, traffic congestion can be mitigated to an extent, said a traffic police at work to
Eastern Mirror.
The Dimapur traffic police Zone-II took up the task to repair the stretch with their manpower and finance by levelling and cementing the portion of the slope to mitigate the traffic congestion and the road leading to Lorna's School will be closed for some days till repair work is done.
