WITH a vision to transform students across the state and nurture youths to be the torch bearers for a better tomorrow, the Students Spiritual Conference (SSC) will be organizing a three-day conference under the theme ‘Save Generation’ for Dimapurians scheduled from 24-26 October at Agri Expo 4th Mile Dimapur from 9 am-3 pm. This was confirmed by the organizing committee at a press conference held today at Eastern Bible College Dimapur.
Labeling Dimapur to be the hub for all activities-good and bad, the Convenor Pastor Ketou Thenuo remarked that the students ought to be taught the fear of God. He also maintained that students go through issues where even the elders appear to be confused to handle the situations. Consequently, this leads to loss of identity and a better future.
Affirming it to be unfortunate to see some teachers who consider that if a problematic student is expelled from their institution the problem of the establishment ends with it, he called upon the elders to guide the youngsters and prepare them for a better tomorrow.
Save Generation Spiritual Conference, which is a humble step towards enormous mission of transformation aims at building their career with God and build healthy relation with their parents, teachers and fellow friends?
All Nagaland Private School Association (ANPSA) President Andrew Ahoto briefing media persons stated that Nagaland is in turmoil where everyone is responsible and there is an urgent need for change. Reiterating that this conference is not only for students but for the elders as well as they are responsible to lead them and the future of the youths depends on their leadership.
The organizing committee is hopeful to receive about 10, 000 participation from students and believe that at least 7000 will be transformed through this conference.
The committee maintained that the change a person receives through this conference will be their greatest reward and mould the youths to wipe out the ‘Ism’ and sweep up ‘Corruption’.
The press conference was attended by Convenor Pastor Ketou Theunou, ANPSA President Andrew Ahoto, Principal HIoT Zha-u Sanchu, Joint and Press Secretary SSC Limatemjen Lemtur and Treasurer SSC Luola-o Usou.
The conference scheduled form October 24-26 2014 for students above IX standard is being supported by ANPSA, Dimapur Naga Students Union (DNSU), Diphupar Village Council, Diphupar Naga Students Union, Joint Christian Forum and various Pastors Fellowships.
