Dimapur, April 29 (EMN): The Dimapur district administration has announced another cleanliness drive. The business district will engage in a district-wide cleanliness work on Thur. May 4 as part of ‘pre-monsoon preparedness’ measures.
The Dimapur division of the Information and Public Relations (IPR) issues updates about the schedule on Monday.
According to the IPR, a meeting to discuss pre-monsoon measure was conducted in the Dimapur deputy commissioner's office on Mon. April 29.
In the meeting, the district administration decided that all government and civic organisations shall participate in the scheduled cleanliness work.
The work will focus on clearing drains, culverts and natural waterways to prevent clogging and flooding during the monsoon period.
The officials also decided that encroachment into public properties causing potential ‘blockade’ to drains and waterways shall be inspected and stringent action will be taken against offenders, the IPR informed.
“Line departments” were directed to review the situation and monitor the status of public infrastructure before the monsoon.
The administration also discussed that alternative routes would be identified and the public will be informed about it in case of any road blocks that may be caused during the monsoon.
The departments in concern were directed to ensure maintenance and pliability of the routes in events of emergency.
