Dimapur district administration to organise ‘District Level Padayatra’ on October 31.

DIMAPUR — The Mera Yuva Bharat, under the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, in collaboration with the Dimapur district administration, is all set to organise a ‘District Level Padayatra’ as part of the 'Sardar 150 Unity March' campaign on October 31, marking the 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the Iron Man of India.
This was announced during a press conference by the Deputy Commissioner of Dimapur, Dr. Tinojongshi Chang, on Thursday. He informed that the rally will commence from City Tower at 6 am, following the route: City Tower - Tajen Ao Road - Dimapur Government College, and will culminate at Dimapur Government College.
Dr. Chang mentioned that the Padayatra represents not merely a walk but a collective journey honouring the principles and vision that Sardar Patel championed throughout his life.
“This Padayatra serves as a heartfelt tribute to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel's enduring legacy, celebrating his pivotal role in ensuring the unity and territorial integrity of the nation,” he said.

The DC said that as the first Home Minister and Deputy Prime Minister of independent India, Sardar Patel had been entrusted with the monumental tasks of maintaining internal security, upholding law and order, and most notably, orchestrating the integration of more than 560 princely states into the Indian Union.
His extraordinary leadership in unifying those diverse states under one national flag had been instrumental in laying the foundation for a united India, he added.

The DC further informed that the ‘Statue of Unity,’ standing as the world's tallest statue, symbolises Patel’s unwavering dedication to national unity and administrative strength a permanent reminder of his contributions to the nation.
All government officials, NCC cadets, NSS volunteers, youth club members, and the general public have been invited to participate in the Padayatra.
Around 200 to 300 students are expected to participate in the rally.
District Youth Officer of Mera Yuva Bharat, K Manikanta, also informed that the ‘District Level Padayatra’ will be held from October 31 to November 25, while the ‘National Level Padayatra’ will be held from November 26 to December 5.
