Dimapur to launch ‘Digi Dimapur’ campaign

Thahekhu adopted to be the first cashless village  Dimapur, Jan. 19: Dimapur District Administration has decided to launch a campaign “Digi Dimapur,” with an objective of popularising and promoting Digital Payment System. The district administration would coordinate the activities of various agencies like banks and government offices to launch awareness campaigns and digital drives to enable more transactions in digital mode. The schemes of union government like Lucky Grahak Yojana, Digi Ohan Vyapari Yojana would be popularised so that people may take advantage of the same by making digital payments. In a press communiqué, Deputy Commissioner (DC) Dimapur, Kesonyu Yhome, stated that in the first phase, the district administration has adopted Thahekhu village to make it the first cashless village in Nagaland. DC said all the government offices and utilities beginning with DC office would be going cashless in a time bound manner. For the under-banked sections special account opening sessions would be held leveraging the Jan Dhan Yojana. He also informed that all bank account holders would be given ATM/Rupay cards and mobile banking facilities. The district administration exhorted all the citizens to actively participate in the “Digi Dimapur” campaign.
