Dimapur, Nov. 4 (EMN): Naga International Trade Centres Association (NITCA) and Dimapur Municipal Council (DMC) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to jointly host yearly Naga International Trade Expo & Summit (NITES) in Dimapur for a period of five years. The MoU in this regard was signed on November 2 in the DMC’s office.
Informing this in a press release NITCA secretary general, Kejaroko Pieru stated that the 1st Naga International Trade Expo and Summit would be held in Dimapur from February 20 to 23 on a yearly basis. Besides signing the MoU, the members discussed on the characteristics of the event, highlights and preparation for the 1st Naga International Trade Expo & Summit (NITES).
Naga International Trade Expo & Summit, an initiative of Naga International Trade Centres Association (NITCA), is being organised by keeping in mind the big picture of reform, innovation and opening-up of foreign trade development in the region.
“We believed that NITES will be a great platform opportunity and contribution for companies/ businesses, products and brands to go global, to expand export and import, to build Naga areas into a big and strong trading and land-linked destination for various sectors, economy, and countries, and for development of an open regional economy,” stated Pieru.
Both NITCA and DMC agreed that trade fair is one important element to present the potential of the region/ city and to bring in collaboration and cooperation between various agencies, partners, and companies from around the world to develop the economic activity of the region/ state and the city in particular.
It also stated that the 1st Naga International Trade Expo & Summit (NITES) will be organised in Dimapur focusing on nine sectors namely building materials and hardware; electronics and household electrical appliances; fabric and home textiles; food and drinks; household items; machinery and equipment; baby and kids products; daily chemicals; and tourism.
