Dimapur, Dec. 4 (EMN): The Dimapur Municipal Council (DMC) has asked all the shopkeepers and business establishments in its jurisdiction, with the exception of workshops and industries, to open their shops on Sundays till January 1, in view of the festive season – Christmas and New Year.
In an update issued on Wednesday, the DMC has also asked the shopkeepers and commercial building owners in Dimapur to whitewash and paint the shutters preferably with blue colour and use low energy consuming electric bulbs to decorate the buildings.
In another notification, the DMC has informed the residents of Lengrijan and the colonies near the Lengrijan River that connecting septic tank pipes to the river or the drainage is strictly prohibited. It said defaulters will be penalised as per the provisions of law.
