Dimapur, July 6: As part of the Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) initiative and to enhance the quality and integrity of electoral roll processing in Nagaland, the government has issued a notice to all government- and recognized private schools in Dimapur to recite the “Daily Election Pledge” every day during morning school assembly. The notice is issued for strict compliance, the government stated in a note issued through the media on Tuesday.
The notice was appended by Kesonyu Yhome, deputy commissioner of Dimapur. The deputy commissioner is also the district election officer of the district.
The SVEEP is a program of multi interventions through different modes and media designed to educate citizens, electors and voters about the electoral process in order to increase their awareness and participation in the electoral processes. SVEEP is designed according to the socio-economic, cultural and demographic profile of the state as well as history of electoral participation in previous rounds of elections and learning thereof.

• To enroll myself in the Electoral Roll when I attain the age of 18.
• To enroll my name in one and only one Assembly Constituency and not more than once in any constituency.
• To cast my vote only in my name and for no one else.
• To protect my precious vote and shall not allow anyone else to cast vo’e on my behalf.
• To cast my vote in every election for the candidate I choose to vote for.
• To vote consciously without any influence of money, dikat or intimidation.
• To vote without any prejudice to sex, tribe,clan,range,Area, Village, Khel or Sector.
