Dimapur, July 7 (EMN): Dr. Nitin Agarwal and Manish Jain have taken over the charges as president and secretary of the Rotary Club Dimapur for the tenure 2018-19. They took over the charges from the outgoing president Vijay Sharma and secretary Subir Saha at the 47th installation ceremony on June 30 at Rotary Centre, Midland, Dimapur.
On the occasion, the club also handed over vocational excellence awards. The best nurse award was given to G Zukheli Sema, while the best fireman award was given to Semendongo Kithan, best power lineman award was given to Sohanlal Ninisa, best traffic police (male) award was given to Ngochinyi Koza, best traffic police (female) award was given to Watisenla, and best town cleaner (DMC) award was given to CH Narayan Rao.
Besides, the club also donated walker and distributed certificates of appreciation to the donors of Rotary flagship programmes namely scholarships and heart to heart project. The programme was well attended by various NGOs, prominent citizens and well wishers.
The club also inducted two new members namely Manoj Agarwal and Sumit Patni. Dr. Nitin Agarwal, in his acceptance speech, reflected about the new Rotary theme “Be the inspiration.” The outgoing secretary gave a brief report on the projects undertaken by the club during the Rotary year 2017-18.
Installation officer, PDG Manas Choudhuri, has emphasised on the role of Rotary in changing the lives of the needy. The vote of thanks was delivered by Payal Acharjee.
