Dimapur, Mar. 5 (EMN): The Dimapur police authorities have withdrawn 144 Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC) from the district. The police establishment issued a press release on Mon. stating that the law and order situation in the district had returned to ‘normalcy.’
Limasunep Jamir, district magistrate and commissioner of Dimapur police appended the order revoking 144A CrPC with immediate effect.
The prohibitions from section 144A CrPC was promulgated by the establishment of the district magistrate and Dimapur police commissioner as part of administrative measures to ensure peace during elections to the 13th Nagaland Legislative Assembly.
A separate notice, from the additional deputy commissioner of police, has also informed individuals in the district who deposited their licensed firearms with the authorities during the elections, to collect them from their respective police station from Mar. 6.
