DIMAPUR — Under National Clean Air Programme (NCAP) initiative, the Commissioner of Police, Dimapur, has announced that it would introduce an Improvised Traffic Control System (ITCS) installed at Nagarjan Police Point and Holy Cross Police Point and added that the traffic lights would be operational soon.
An update from Dimapur Police stated that traffic rules and regulations are devised to ensure the smooth flow of motor vehicles on the road, not meant only for drivers but also for all road users.
[bsa_pro_ad_space id=1]It mentioned that thorough knowledge of traffic rules/regulations, traffic signs and markings are essential for drivers and road users and could greatly reduce the number of accidents and establish a healthy and organised traffic system in the city.
Bylane thoroughfare access: This is to inform that the vehicles may continue to ply on the below-mentioned routes even if a RED signal (STOP signal) is being flashed unless signalled by the traffic police to stop.
(i) Holy Cross police point
a. Vehicles travelling from Dhobinallah towards City Tower.
b. Vehicles travelling from City Tower towards Nyamo Lotha Road.
c. Vehicles travelling from Nyamo Lotha Road towards Dhobinallah.
(ii) Nagarjan police point
a. Vehicles travelling from Nagarjan Road towards CP Office Road/Railway Station Road
b. Vehicles travelling from CP Office Road/Railway Station Road towards Super Market Road.
c. Vehicles travelling from Super Market Road towards Nagarjan Road.
It mentioned that Dimapur Traffic Police has been working tirelessly to ensure a smooth flow of traffic. With the introduction of the traffic control system for more effective traffic management, it has solicited the cooperation and support of all individuals. It further requested all concerned to abide by the traffic regulations.
