Dimapur police nab 10 criminals

A press release issued by the Additional Commissioner of Police and PRO, Dimapur, stated that the accused were lodged in various police stations for further investigations. On April 25, Anti-Extortion Team (AET) of the Dimapur police apprehended one person identified as Tovi Swu (29) of Pishikhe village and resident of Pishikhe village, Dimapur, while he was extorting illegal tax from autorickshaw drivers at Purana Bazaar Daily Market area. Police recovered cash amount of INR 1400 along with four leaflets of illegal yearly vehicle tax slip, one demand note of NPGN NNC (N/A) addressed to the president and members of bamboo union Dimapur from his possession. A police report stated that the accused had admitted collecting yearly vehicle tax of INR 700 per autorickshaw from the drivers. It added that case in this connection has been registered at Dimapur East Police Station for further investigation. On April 24, AET team apprehended one person identified as Kheshito Zhimomi (29) of Ghathashi village, Zunheboto, and resident of Sringrijan, Dimapur, while extorting illegal yearly tax from truck drivers at ISBT junction in Purana Bazaar, Dimapur. Police recovered cash of IN 4080 and 18 leaflets of illegal yearly tax slip of NSCN (K) from his possession. Case in this connection has been registered at Dimapur East Police Station. On April 23, AET apprehended one person identified as Jubito Yepthomi (26) of Viyilho village under Aghunato sub-division in Zunheboto and resident of New Colony, Purana Bazaar, Dimapur, while extorting illegal yearly tax from truck drivers at ISBT junction in Purana Bazaar, Dimapur. Police recovered cash of INR 6860 and 29 leaflets of illegal yearly tax including 15 leaflets belonging to NSCN (K), 12 leaflets belonging to NNC (N/A), and two leaflets belonging to NSCN (R) from his possession. The accused admitted that he was a sympathiser of NSCN (K), NSCN (R) and NNC (N/A). On April 24, Dimapur police personnel apprehended one person identified as Inato Yeptho (32) of Lithsami village in Zunheboto district and resident of Khehokhu village, Dimapur. Police recovered one mobile handset, cash of INR 200, four Nos of NNC GPRN (N/A) information yearly tax slip 2019-2020 from his possession. On April 22, Dimapur police apprehended one person identified as Inahoto Yeptho, while collecting illegal tax from the butchers at Purana Bazaar Daily Market, Dimapur. Police recovered cash amount of INR 1375 from his possession. Case in this connection has been registered at Dimapur East Police Station for further investigation. On the same day, Dimapur police apprehended one person identified as Vito Awomi while extorting cash from truck drivers at Naharbari sand stockiest area in Dimapur. Police recovered cash amount of INR 2000 from his possession. Case in this connection has been registered at Dimapur East Police Station. On April 16, Dimapur police apprehended one person identified as Akishe (27) of Satami village in Zunheboto district and resident of Eralibill village, Dimapur, while extorting money from trucks near TK Service. Police recovered cash amount of INR 8200, 35 capsules of Spasmo Proxyvon, and four tablets of Nitrosun and one mobile handset from his possession. A case has been registered at Dimapur East Police Station. On April 13, AET apprehended one person identified as Phuketo (34) and resident of Supply colony, Dimapur, while collecting illegal tax from the fish and vegetable vendors at New Market area in the name of NSCN (U). Po;ice recovered cash of INR 1500 from his possession. Case in this connection has been registered at Dimapur East Police Station. On April 24, personnel of Government Railway Police Station (GRPS) arrested one person identified as Babul Hussain (22 yrs) with 185 boxes of Spasmo Proxyvon capsules containing 26,640 capsules and 16 boxes of Nitrosun tablets containing 1600 capsules from his possession. Case in this connection has been registered at Dimapur GRPS. On April 14, Dimapur police apprehended one person identified as Dhurba Sharma @ Sunny (49) from Batta Charali and recovered 4000 capsules of Spasmo Proxyvon from his possession. Case in this connection has been registered at Dimapur East Police Station.
