Dimapur, May 27 (EMN): Additional deputy Commissioner of Police/PRO, Dimapur has reported that Dimapur Police personnel manning the Chumukedima Check gate, on May 19 seized approximately 3080 capsules of banned Spasmo Proxyvon in possession of one Apana Nsanlung, daughter of Iswangbam of Mpai village, Peren. The person has been arrested and charged for offences under the Drug & Cosmetics Act.
On May 22, personnel of C/9 NAP (IR) deployed under Dimapur Police while conducting foot patrol apprehended three persons extorting money from business establishments at New Market. They were reportedly members of the banned NSCN (K). The accused were identified as Kughalu Chophy, son of Lutovi Chophy of Phushumi Village, Zunheboto; Vinoka Zhimomi, son of Keyiho Zhimomi of Marumi village,Zunheboto and Ghileto Zhimomi, son of Zutoi of Marumi village, Zunheboto. A case has been registered against them for further investigation.
On May 24, personnel of the Crime Branch (CID) intercepted a vehicle at Shokhuvi village area and seized approximately 180 Kgs of contraband Ganja being transported by one Achan Muilung, son of late Haopha of Paoji village, Ukhrul, Manipur. A case has been registered for further investigation.
On the same day, the AET of the Dimapur Police arrested one person on charges of extortion after he was found collecting illegal taxes from business establishments around Dhobinallah area. The person was identified as InatoAssumi, son of HoitoA ssumi of Honito village, Kiphire and, presently residing at Thilixu village, Dimapur. He is reportedly a “Section Officer” of the NSCN/GPRN (IM).
