Dimapur Police arrest five, seize suspected cocaine, uncover interstate trafficking syndicate with alleged Nigerian link under NDPS investigation
DIMAPUR — In a major crackdown on organised drug trafficking, Dimapur Police have busted an alleged interstate cocaine syndicate operating through commercial courier services, arrested five accused across Nagaland, Maharashtra and Delhi, and uncovered links extending to a Nigerian national.
The case, registered at West Police Station under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, 1985, led to the seizure of about 33 grams of suspected cocaine, which has been sent for forensic examination.
Police identified the arrested accused as Tohuka Sema alias Toka (35), alleged to be a major cocaine supplier based in Dimapur; Yeka Awomi (30), arrested from Pune, Maharashtra; Biresh Kumar (22) and Akhtar Hussain (35), both apprehended from Delhi; and Swantheiba Inkah (25), alleged to have acted as a delivery agent facilitating the movement and delivery of the contraband.
According to police, two other accused, currently based outside Nagaland, remain absconding and efforts are underway to arrest them.

The investigation has revealed that the syndicate allegedly procured and distributed cocaine through commercial courier and parcel delivery channels, including DTDC Courier Services, using an organised network of suppliers, handlers and delivery agents.
Preliminary findings suggest the network operated with clearly defined roles involving procurement, payment layering, interstate transportation, courier-based delivery and distribution of cocaine through commercial logistics channels.
Police said the investigation has also uncovered interstate and international linkages, including the alleged involvement of a Nigerian national. Efforts are continuing to identify other associates, trace financial transactions, establish the customer network and determine the full extent of the syndicate's operations.
Dimapur Police urged members of the public to share credible information on narcotics trafficking, assuring that all inputs will be treated with strict confidentiality.
