Dimapur, Aug. 18 (EMN): Dimapur police have arrested four persons in the past one week for alleged for engaging in various crimes.
According to a press release issued by the additional commissioner of police, a person identified as Niuto Awomi of Kiyevi village under Medziphema sub-division was arrested on Aug.18 while he was trying to steal money from an ATM booth located at 4th Mile, near Agri Expo site in Dimapur.
One crow bar used for opening the ATM cash vault was recovered by the police.
Accordingly, case was registered at Diphupar police station for further investigation.
Also, on Aug. 17, the Dimapur police have arrested one person in connection with Borpathat police station case on Aug. 17 and rescued one female from captivity.
In this connection, the alleged accused identified as Bijoy Deka was arrested from Purana Bazaar in Dimapur. It was informed that both the victim and the accused were handed over to Borpathar police.
In a separated incident, the Dimapur police have arrested two persons on Aug. 13, for extorting money from business communities.
The arrested persons were identified as Nitoho Kinimi of Kuhoxu village under Niuland sub-division, presently residing at Half Nagarjan and Tokato Jimumi of Roni village under Bhandari sub-division in Wokha district and currenrly residing at Signal Bazaar.
Police have recovered 32 nos. of vehicles tax information slip, one note pad, one visiting card of NNC-Non Accordist and cash of INR 750 from their possession. The case is under investigation was going on.
