Dimapur, July 7 (EMN): Dimapur police personnel and Anti-Extortion Team (AET) have arrested five persons for indulging in various criminal offences on July 4 and 5.
On July 5, Anti Extortion Team (AET) Zone-II, Dimapur, arrested two persons from Khermahal area for extorting money from auto drivers.
One accused was identified as Lokivi Achumi (32) of Phishumi village under VK, Zunheboto, and presently a resident of Supermarket in Dimapur.
According to a press release issued by the additional deputy commissioner of police and PRO, the accused was reportedly a Sgt. Major of NNC/NPGN (N/A).
The other accomplice was identified as Kito Chishi (20), ‘ss’ Sergeant in NSCN-IM of Phishumi village under VK, Zunheboto. He is presently a resident of Burma Camp, Naga Colony, Dimapur.
The team recovered cash amount of INR 710, three work permit slips of NSCN (IM) and yearly tax slips of NNC/NPGN (N/A) from their possession. The release stated that case in this connection has been registered with the West Police Station, Dimapur.
On the same day, Dimapur police apprehended two motorcycle lifters from Kuhoxu village junction and recovered one Gixxer motorcycle (black colour) bearing registration No. NL07-M-6436 with Chassis No. MB8NG4BAFF8155995 and Engine No. BGA1162159 from their possession.
The two accused were identified as Puloto Achumi (21), son of Hovito Achumi of Kuhoxu village under Niuland, Dimapur, and ii) Kakiye Achumi (20), son of Pekiye of Kuhoxu village under Niuland, Dimapur.
On preliminary enquiry, it was ascertained that the motorcycle was stolen from Nikos Hospital on July 2 belonging to Tobi Ayemi. Case in this connection has been registered with the West Police Station, Dimapur.
On July 4, Dimapur police personnel arrested one pick pocket identified as Vinoka, resident of Xuvihe colony, Sematilla, Dimapur, from Dimapur railway station. Case in this connection has been registered with the GRPS Dimapur.
Meanwhile, Dimapur police personnel has recovered body of a non Naga (age about 40 years) on July 5 near 254/ 9-8 between Dimapur-Rangapahar railway track. He was suspected to be run over by a moving train.
The body was shifted to District Hospital for post mortem and identification after conducting all legal formalities.
