DIMAPUR — A delegation of Dimapur Municipal Council (DMC), led by Chairman Hukheto Yepthomi, met Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio at his residence in Sovima on Thursday to discuss issues relating to the functioning of the municipal council and civic administration in Dimapur.
According to an update, discussions centred on several matters concerning the functioning and welfare of DMC, including assessment of municipal properties, trade licence regulations, sanitation management and issues related to municipal vehicles.
The chairman highlighted the need for improved administrative measures and greater support to enhance the overall functioning of the council.
Members of the delegation also emphasised the need to strengthen administrative mechanisms and cooperation in order to improve civic administration and public service delivery in Dimapur.
The meeting concluded with an assurance of continued cooperation to address issues concerning municipal governance and enhance civic services.
The DMC team also acknowledged the support and guidance of the chief minister during the meeting and expressed appreciation for his willingness to listen to the council’s concerns.
They stated that his guidance and assurance of cooperation would help strengthen the functioning of DMC and improve public service delivery in the city.
