Dimapur, March 26 (EMN): The Dimapur District Legal Services Authority (DDLSA) held a consultative meet with the stakeholders on March 24 at its front office. Updates from chief judicial magistrate informed about the meet on Monday.
During the meet, topics such as how to implement the law effectively and also to provide legal aid by way of seminars and different provisions of law were discussed.
The chief medical officer of District Hospital Dimapur, Dr. C Tetseo spoke on tobacco abuse, ways to control and implement the sale of tobacco and other products to minors under the COPTA Act 2003. Deputy chief medical officer of District Hospital Dimapur, Dr. Anitoli, assured the DDLSA to work together in various aspects. Representatives from Childline Dimapur and Sakhi presented their report on implementing of projects.
Director of Prodigals Home, Ela emphasized examination on Child victims under the POCSO Act, 2012, child friendly environment and medical tests by the hospital authorities.
Director of Assisi Centre for Integrated Development (ACID), Sister Parmila gave a brief report on registered domestic workers numbering about 1050 in Dimapur. She appealed NGOs to work effectively and also suggested the DDLSA to provide legal aid by way of seminars to domestic workers.
Concluding remarks and assurance of legal aid of any kind was delivered by Neikuo Kanuo, principal district and session judge cum chairman of DDLSA.
