A meeting in this connection was held in the DC’s conference hall, Dimapur, on April 29, wherein all government departments and civil bodies  decided to participate at the proposed social work. A DIPR report stated that emphasis would be given to clear all drains/ nullahs, culverts and natural waterways to prevent clogging and flooding during the monsoon period. It was decided that encroachments on public properties causing potential blockade to drains and waterways would be inspected and stringent action would be taken against the defaulters. Line departments were directed to review and monitor the status of public infrastructure before monsoon. It was also discussed that alternative routes would be identified and informed in case of any road blockades caused during the period. Concerned departments are also directed to ensure maintenance and pliability of such identified roads in case of emergency.
