Dimapur, June 4 (EMN): Dimapur District Excise personnel manning the Chumukedima Excise Check gate on June 1 at 11 a.m. recovered 144 bottles of IMFL Rum and 48 Can Beers while checking the two suspected vehicles -Hyundai Santro AROlC 1500 and Maruti Alto bearing Regd No. NL03 5107.
In this connection, Alowia Zeliang, son of alte Ativa Zeliang, resident of Ghorapati, Dimapur and Ali Sangtam, son of Setsazi Sangtam, resident of High School Colony, Kohima were arrested and booked under Section 44 of NLTP ACT 1989. The detection and seizure of the above contraband was made under the command of Lawrence AIE along with constables Phongtin H/C Kiyelu, Akahoto, Jungshi, Thejong, Ranglise, Athungo, Amet Phom and Zubeni.
In a separate arrest, Dimapur District Excise, arrested one person namely Khrolezo Wezah , son of Khrotso Wezah, resident of Chizami Town, Phek was booked under relevant section of the NLTP ACT 1989 for illegal trafficking 84 bottles of IMFL Rum on Maruti Alto Bearing Regd No. NLO1H 0034 from the Excise Check gate at Churnukedima by the same duty party on the same day.
