Dimapur, June 7 (EMN): The Dimapur District Cricket Association (DDCA) U-19 cricket tournament got underway on Friday June 7.
According to an update from the general secretary of DDCA, the first match was played between Dimapur Royals Juniors and Ram Janaki Higher Secondary School.
Dimapur Royals Junior after winning the toss elected to bat first and scored a competitive 161 runs losing six wickets in 25 overs.
Nchumbemo scored 40 runs while Afzal and Parbez scored 27 runs each for Dimapur Royals Junior.
Ankit and Suraj captured two wickets apiece for Ram Janaki HSS.
Chasing a target of 162 runs to win, Ram Janaki HSS could manage only 111 runs losing nine wickets in 25 overs.
Ratish and Raju scored 31 and 21 runs for Ram Janaki HSS.
Hopong took three wickets while Arjun and Odilemba took two wickets apiece for Dimapur Royals Junior.
Dimapur Royals Juniors won by 50 runs
In the second match, Kevijau Youth Organisation won the toss and elected to bat first against Christian Higher Secondary School (CHSS).
Kevijau Youth Organisation scored 107 runs losing nine wickets in 20 overs.
Ritu scored 24 runs while Ikavi and Dhiraj chipped in with 20 runs each.
Ankesh and Randeer captured three wickets apiece for CHSS.
CHSS overcame the target by scoring 108 runs losing just one wicket in 18.2 overs.
Bikash scored 47 runs with Ajay chipping in with 27 runs.
Dipak took the lone wicket for Kevijau Youth Organisation.
CHSS won by nine wickets.
