Dimapur, Feb. 5 (EMN):The monthly meeting of the Dimapur District Planning & Development Board for the month of February was held in the district’s deputy commissioner’s office on February 5. The deputy commissioner of Dimapur Kevekha Kevin Zehol, was the chairman for the meeting.
The meeting discussed a number of matters which included registration of societies, promotion for government schools, and issues concerning district officers attending the board’s meeting regularly.
On the agenda for registration of societies, the members of the board deliberated after which they recommended a number of groups for registration: Life of hope Ministry at North Block of Burma Camp in Dimapur; and Dimapur Bongs at Kalibari road near the Dimapur Municipal Council’s office.
The members of the board also approved to forward a application seeking “upgradation” (promotion) of the government middle school of Sematila, to a government high school; and government middle school of Indisen village to a government high school ‘basing on the verification report.’
On the issue of selecting a number of special areas, so called “aspiration blocks,” for Dimapur district, the development board approved Aghunaga block. The DIPR stated that Aghunaga block was identified by the Rural Development department.
In other matters, Deputy Commissioner Zehol has emphasised on the importance of regular attendance of the officials in the monthly meeting of the DPDB. He was said to have requested all the members of the board to be “present in person” during the meeting.
Further, the deputy commissioner was stated to have termed ‘posting at Dimapur’ as an ‘advantage posting’ that should ensure sincerity from the government servants. The administrator has appealed to all the district officials to be sincere in their assigned works for the welfare of the district, the DIPR’s updates added.
