DIMAPUR — The Dimapur District Basketball Association (DDBA) organised a one-day 3x3 Basketball Tournament at JV Basketball Court, Signal Angami, on August 30 with 29 teams—24 men’s and 5 women’s—competing in league-cum-knockout rounds.
According to an update, in the men’s final, Highlanders defeated Orca 18–15.
James of Orca scored 9 points, supported by Kevin with 4 points, but Highlanders secured victory through a balanced team effort. Chumben contributed 4 points, Atsiezo 6, and Sede 5. Chumben Kikon of Highlanders was declared Men’s MVP.

The women’s final saw ABC (B) prevail over ABC (A) 9–4. While Asang and Theja fought for ABC (A), it was Sungjemenla of ABC (B) who led the win with 6 points, assisted by Imtila and Nisino. Neiseno of ABC (B) was named Women’s MVP.
B-Level referees Salew Kadete and Seyievizo Kire, along with local officials, officiated the tournament.
Vitoto Chishío, working president of DDBA, thanked teams, officials, and supporters, stating that the event highlighted basketball’s role in fostering talent, unity, and sportsmanship.
He announced that the 3rd MS Ahluwalia Memorial 3x3 Open Tournament and more 3x3 and 5x5 events will be held in the coming months.
