Dimapur Fast Track Special Court sentenced Vikehe Assumi to life imprisonment for murder and 20 years for rape under POCSO.

DIMAPUR — The Special Judge of Fast Track Special Court (POCSO) Dimapur, Khesheli Chishi, on Friday convicted and sentenced a man to life imprisonment for the offence of murder and 20 years of rigorous imprisonment for the offence of rape.
The judge ruled that the sentences will run concurrently. The accused person, Vikehe Assumi, was tried in connection with Wokha North Police Station Case No. 06/2020 under Section 302 of the Indian Penal Code and Section 4 of the POCSO Act.

According to the prosecution, the case was investigated by Sub-Inspector Adono Kent, while the trial was conducted by Special Public Prosecutor Imlimongla.
