Dimapur, March 18 (EMN): As many as eight calls were received and nine patients visited the Dimapur district control room for the novel coronavirus (Covid-19) on the first day of activatition, at the Chief Medical Officer’s (CMO) office on Wednesday. Officials from the Health department informed Eastern Mirror about the status on March 18.
An official informed that the callers were local people who had arrived from New Delhi, Mumbai and England between March 11 and the 17th.
“The callers have been asked to quarantine themselves for 14 days and if any symptoms pop up, they have to come get checked,” the official said.
The official further informed that the nine patients, who came for testing, had mild symptoms but were ruled out for Covid-19 and have been asked to quarantine themselves in their own homes for 14 days. “The patients will be reviewed again after 2-3 days after which we will do a retest,” the official said.
The official also informed that citizens should know how to wear masks. Concerning the three-layer surgical mask, he informed that people who have been infected or were showing symptoms should wear it with the white side facing the mouth and nose or the blue side facing outward, and vice versa.
“The white side acts like a filter, so when one wears it faced inward, it helps to stop the spread of any infection or virus,” the doctor said.
