Dimapur, April 18 (EMN): Dimapur defeated Tuensang by 10 wickets to lift the Under-23 inter district cricket tournament's trophy at the NCA Stadium at Sovima in Dimapur on Wednesday.
In the final match, Tuensang opted to bat and scored a modest target of 177—all out in 36.3 overs— with Aditya on a half century with 62 runs and Changsomba with 28 runs. Dimapur's bowler Akavi and Nagaho claimed three wickets each.
In the chase, Dimapur rode on Sedezhalie’s century 105 (not out) and Puchu Deb 51 (not out) to mark up a crashing 10-wicket victory over Tuensang in the final match to emerge the ultimate champions of the tournament.
The tournament was organised by the Nagaland Cricket Association. The event saw eight districts Dimapur, Kohima, Tuensang, Mon, Mokokchung, Peren, Zhuneboto, and Wokha.
Dimapur notched up all the three individual awards: the player of the tournament prize went to Tahmeed Rahman, the best bowler Akavi Yeptho, and best batsman to Sedezhalie Rupreo.
