Dimapur, Dec. 2 (EMN): Dimapur Ao Youth Organisation (DAYO) has strongly condemned the act of those perpetrators involved in demanding tax from the workers of new church building construction in Aoyim village.
Having learned that Dimapur police have arrested one leacy from NNC/FGN identified as Kughato Swu of Khehokhu village, DAYO stated that the culprit should not be granted bail as he had shown highest disrespect to the Naga churches and its believers by committing sacrilege. Also pointing out that cadres from other political groups were involved, DAYO urged the police not to leave any stone unturned in their efforts to arrest all those culprits involved.
“These Naga national workers are taking undue advantage of the prevailing ceasefire and are against the very existence of the church as they are devoid of any conscience and morality,” DAYO president Aotemsu Aier and the general secretary S Pangertoshi stated in a joint press release.
DAYO appealed to all the right thinking citizens to voice out unitedly against the menace of unlawful taxation in the society. DAYO further extended support to the Public Action Committee (PAC) of Naga Council. It further appreciated the Dimapur police for its commendable job.
