Dimapur, Nov. 24 (EMN): Administrative officers and staff of Deputy Commissioner’s office Dimapur, outpost officers, Dimapur District officers, Dobashis, Naga Council, NGOs, civil societies and well wishers bade farewell to the outgoing Deputy Commissioner Kesonyu Yhome, who has served the district for two years and 266 days at DCs office Dimapur.
Speaking on the occasion, the outgoing DC termed his stay at Dimapur as very challenging as well as exciting.”It is because of these challenges the stay has been exciting,” he expressed. Yhome felt that his stay in Dimapur has made his learning curves go higher professionally, and said that one can get such kind of experience by getting posted as DC Dimapur.
Recollecting his experiences as DC Dimapur, Kesonyu narrated that he was new to the district in 2015, when he was posted as DC Dimapur where he had learnt a lot of things. According to him, 2016 was largely peaceful except on some border issues. He dubbed the year 2017 as the most challenging in connection with ULB elections, and the disaster after disasters that strike Dimapur district since Feb.2017 due to extended monsoons, resulting to floods, washing away of roads and bridges, burning of transformers etc.” These challenges have brought us together and that is the beauty of working as a team,” he maintained while emphasising on the need and importance of team spirit.
He also reminded the gathering that every challenge whether big or small is surmountable as long as they function as a unit, and termed it as the beauty of administrating.
Thanking the HODs of every department, Yhome observed that Dimapur district has the finest officers, who have extended all support and cooperation during his tenure as DC Dimapur. He further expressed his thanks and appreciation to the DBs, civil societies, organisations, NGOs, personal staff, administrative officers and staff of DCs office, and the public of Dimapur for their unflinching cooperation both in good and bad times.
Yhome also thanked God for helping him and the administration to sail through successfully in different circumstances and also prayed to keep the new DC and Dimapur safe.
While formally welcoming the new DC Dimapur, Kesonyu appealed to one and all to render all help and support to the incoming DC, as was extended to him.
The new DC Dimapur, Sushil Kumar Patel lauded the outgoing DC for handling various issues successfully though Dimapur being a sensitive district and said that Kesonyu was an inspiration to many. While conveying his best wishes to the outgoing DC, Kumar sought the support and cooperation of the officers and the people for successful functioning of the district.
On the occasion, many speakers who spoke described Kesonyu as God fearing, humble, honest, sincere and a very able and efficient administrative officers.
Kiphire: A farewell programme for the outgoing Deputy Commissioner Kiphire Sedevikho Khro was held at DC’s conference hall on Nov. 23.
Expressing his gratitude for the respect and love shown to him during his stay, Khro also thanked all administrative officers for their cooperation and support, and termed the team as the best working team. He also thanked the tribal Hoho and NGOs for extending their full cooperation and contributing mature views and opinions of maintaining law and order in the district. Remain sincere, transparent and hardworking in whatever you do, he added encouraging the administrative officers and staff.

Mon district bade farewell to outgoing Deputy Commissioner W Honje Konyak on Nov. 24 at District Executive Hall, DC office complex Mon.
The outgoing DC in his farewell speech said “don’t look or compares to those lazy and irregular in works but instead keep on working what you have to do so at the end that you will be happy in life.” He mentioned that his two years and eight months period as DC was peaceful and successful and appreciated all the staffs, subordinates officials and the civil societies for cooperation and support in all the activities.
Stating that Mon being the most backward district in Nagaland, it is far lacking behind in every spheres, he therefore appealed the employees and people of Mon to work harder and go for extra miles in order to progress in all round development. He urged all the employees who are posted at Mon district to be sincere and work hard.
Honje, the brain child of ‘I Love My Mon Town’ which was started in 2015, encouraged the people of the district to take up initiatives for better and cleaner Mon town. This can only achieve when people start thinking about change and take active participation, he added.
Officers and representatives of various organisations from the district also delivered speeches.
