Dimapur admin. rushes for flood prevention

The district’s administration is said to have started taking ‘preventive measures’ against flooding in the town.[/caption] Dimapur, March 19 (EMN): The district administration of Dimapur has taken an “initiative” to clean and clear major “affected drainages” in Dimapur town in coordination with the Dimapur Municipal Council. The “initiative” started on March 19 as a “preventive measure,” a press release from the administration stated on Tuesday. “Cleaning of the affected areas will continue for 1 whole month to be taken up colony / ward wise. On the first day, cleaning started from United colony, GHSS area by the DMC and the concern colony members,” the updates stated. ‘Every year flood looms large over the district of Dimapur with the onset of monsoons.’ The Dimapur Municipal Council’s administrator, Moa Sangtam, informed that the ‘cleaning work’ in the same stretch would take two more days.
