Dimapur, March 4 (EMN): The Dimapur district establishment distributed bio-degradable bags to nongovernment organisations and district agencies on March 4. The bags were given as part of the plastic-free Nagaland programme.
Deputy Commissioner Kevekha Zehol distributed bio-degradable bags to members of nongovernmental organisations, Dimapur Municipal Council (DMC) and administrative officers, updates from the government bulletin DIPR stated on Monday.
The groups included Dimapur Chamber of Commerce, Business Association of Nagas, East Dimapur Business Association; additional deputy commissioners of Niuland and Medziphema; chief medical officer of Dimapur, among others.
‘DC Dimapur urged upon the people for judicious use of the environment friendly bags so that the use of plastic bags could be reduced to certain extent,’ the updates stated.
