DIG of CID addresses NCC cadets on cyber security

DIMAPUR— Dr. KPA Ilyas, DIG of CID at Police Headquarters, Kohima, on Friday delivered a lecture on cyber security and interacted with the NCC cadets, who are currently undergoing the combined annual training camp (CATC-29), being conducted by 1 Nagaland Girls Battalion NCC at Sazolie College in Jotsoma.

A defence release stated that Dr Ilyas has shared examples on misuse of cyberspace such as hacking and leakage of personal and confidential information and educated them on risks and implications of doing so. He also emphasised on importance of preventing oneself from falling victim to cybercrimes and urged the cadets to be alert and always maintain cyber protocol.

He further encouraged the cadets in particular and youth in general to contribute towards spreading awareness on cyber security with their families, friends and communities. In order to do so, he stated that they must be thorough with the concept of cyberspace and cyber security.

Report also stated that the speaker was presented with a memento by Col. Manjeet Katoch, camp commandant, for his informative and enlightening lecture on the cyber security.
