SEAN “Diddy” Combs is set to quit the music industry for a fulltime movie career.
The 46-year-old told the June issue of Cigar Aficionado magazine that his next album, No Way Out 2, will be his last.
“I’m going to put out my last album and devote 100 per cent of my time to doing films,” he said.
“I want to stop at a great place. And a final album is a great place to stop. I want to take a victory lap, to do a world tour and really enjoy it one last time.”
The father of six has teased that his final album will be his “most honest” and he’s well aware that he has to “come back in a way that grabs attention”.“When I’m gone, only the songs will survive,” he said about his musical legacy.
“I know I’m making music that will live on. I don’t go into the studio just to be hot or to hear myself on the radio. Michael Jackson, Tupac, Biggie — part of them lives on in their music, even though they’re not here anymore. That’s really deep, man. The only thing like that is religion.” Combs has previously released six studio albums and has won three Grammy Awards.
He has also starred in such films as Monster’s Ball, Get Him to the Greek and Draft Day.
He’s also an incredibly successful business, with his own vodka brand, TV company and clothing line. In 2015 Diddy’s net worth was estimated by Forbes to be $A965.5 million.
