Dimapur, May 25 (EMN): District Health Society (DHS) Phek conducted Information Education Communication (IEC) activities through street play on May 24, on non-communicable diseases. To improve health promotion on National Programme for Prevention and Control of Cancer, Diabetes, Cardiovascular diseases and Stroke (NPCDCDS) an awareness program through street play, organised by DHS was performed by the youth of Bible Hill Baptist Church Phek in two locations.At the program a health talk on non-communicable diseases was shared by Dr. Dwalie, AYUSH District Hospital Phek. In her speech she informed the public about risk factors of NCDs and the strategies for prevention and controls. She called upon the gathering to maintain a healthy lifestyle by doing regular exercise, maintain balance diet, avoid tobacco, smoking, drinking alcohol etc.
Pamphlets on NCDs were handed out to all the participants.
The program was attended by Health Education Officer, Limala; program coordinator of NCDs, Abeni and Jean Family Welfare assistant from Directorate of Health & Family Welfare Kohima, IEC members from Health Units of PHek.
