The 17 affected villages of the Lothas and Semas held a general meeting on May 6 at Doyang Hydro Electric Project Site and seriously viewed the order of September 2 and 3, 2013 issued by the Ministry of Kilo Affairs NSCN/GPRN appointing ‘un-mandated president of LOU, DHEP’ upto 2016 abrogating the LOU,DHEP Constitution on the expiry of the tenure of office w.e.f 21/11/2013 setting aside the ‘Fact Finding Committee’ officially constituted by the cabinet, resolved to declare as ‘null and void’.
The house also took strong exception to the pressure meted out to R Yanthan who has been endorsed by the majority executive members to act on behalf of the affected landowners as party leader to sign an undertaking by the Ministry of Kilo Affairs of NSCN/GPRN. In this connection, the House resolved that R Yanthan should not be made to bear the consequences of the undertaking and in the event of any fallout by signing the undertaking under duress, the landowners of 17 affected villages will in all earnest debar R Yanthan to appear or sign any undertaking by the NSCN/GPRN and the House further resolved to bear the entire responsibility on the issue of landowners and any consequence thereof
It also condemned the news item that appeared in a local daily on May 4 - ‘LOU,DHEP warns Self-styled Leaders’ taking the advantage under the shelter of the Deputy commissioner, Wokha and the NSCN/GPRN Government in utter violation of the Human Rights. The House further resolved to demand the ‘Fact Finding Committee’s report headed by the Secretary, Ministry of Kilo Affairs which was constituted by the cabinet to probe into the two contending groups’ dispute over the LOU, DHEP presidentship.
On the expiry of the tenure of Office bearers with effect from 21/11/2013, the House unanimously resolved to dissolve theexecutive members and further resolved to elect the president by the general body in the general meeting.
Resolved to extend the general meeting and further resolved to convene the next general meeting on 14/5/2014.
