DIMAPUR — The Dharti Aaba Janjatiya Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan (DAJGUA), a nationwide campaign aimed at creating awareness and achieving benefit saturation of key government schemes, was launched in Tuensang and Niuland districts on June 17 and 18, respectively.

The launching programme in Tuensang was held at Hakchang village, Sangsangyu Block, attended by EAC Tuensang and District Nodal Officer for DAJGUA Moasanen Imsong and EAC Sangsangyu, Toking Yimchunger, along with officials from various line departments, banks, and the post office.

The campaign will cover seven villages, namely Sangsangyu, Maksha, Hakchang, Nyinyem, Kejok, Konya, and Momching, under Tuensang district, according to a DIPR report.

Altogether, ten departments participated in the launching programme with the aim of spreading awareness and ensuring saturation of services such as the Indira Gandhi Old Age Pension Scheme, Indira Gandhi National Widow Pension Scheme, Indira Gandhi National Disability Pension Scheme, PMMVY, PM Kisan, Kisan Credit Cards, ration cards, CMHIS/Ayushman Bharat registration and card generation, MNREGA, CMMFI loans, Jan Dhan accounts, Mudra loans, IPPB, PM Vishwakarma registration, Aadhaar enrolment and corrections, and issuing of ST/Indigenous/PRC certificates.

The awareness and saturation campaign, which started at Hakchang village, will continue until June 30.

The campaign for Niuland district was launched at Suhoi village public ground (Kuhuboto sub-division), with DC Niuland Sara S Jamir as the special guest.

Jamir stated during the launching programme that the main purpose of the campaign is not only to disseminate information to villagers about government beneficiary schemes, as many are still unaware of these benefits, but also to saturate government schemes, programmes, and other benefits at the grassroots level.

She said that such a programme brings the opportunity to the doorstep to avail all possible entitlement benefits and urged everyone present to take advantage of the opportunity and to share the information with all villagers and neighbouring villages.

The DC also said that community participation in showcasing local products is very important in such campaigns or platforms so that the society can flourish and keep pace with the rest.

As part of the campaign, free health check-ups, sickle cell awareness, Aadhaar enrolment, and CMHIS/Ayushman Bharat registration were also conducted. More than 15 departments participated in the campaign, which targeted six villages under Kuhuboto Block.

EAC Niuland, Vitoka Yepthomi, and head GB Suhoi village, Tokuho, delivered the keynote address and a short speech, respectively.
