Dimapur, May 22 (EMN): Director General of the National Cadet Corps (DGNCC), Lieutenant General PP Malhotra, has called on the state governor PB Acharya at Dimapur on May 22.
A defence press release stated that the General had apprised the governor on the objectives of National Cadet Corps in pursuance of national goals. He discussed various activities being undertaken by the NCC units towards achieving the aim of national integration and nation building in the state of Nagaland.
Lieutenant General PP Malhotra was on a two-day visit to various NCC units of Dimapur and Kohima on May 22 and 23. The General is the highest ranking officer in-charge of national cadet corps across the country. The purpose of his visit was to take a firsthand account of NCC activities in the state and also to interact with the officers and cadets of NCC units.
On May 22, Lieutenant General PP Malhotra held an interaction session with senior officers of NCC directorate, North East Region, Shillong, wherein Major General Raju Chauhan, additional director general of NCC, North East Region, provided the visiting officer with an update on NCC activities. After the briefing, he visited 1 Nagaland Air Squadron NCC located at Dimapur and observed the training activities of the unit.
