Dimapur, March 17 (EMN): Dimapur Government College conducted workshops on skills development digitalisation for the 6th semester students of BA and B.Com on March 14.
The first workshop was held on “Awareness cum registration programme for free of cost placement linked soft skill development training and recruitment (sic) in the field of aviation, hospitality and cruise lines.”
The workshop was conducted by Anirban Mukherjee, operations manager of Emporium Training and Consultancy Pvt. Ltd. He began the proceedings by highlighting on the issues and challenges of unemployment among the youth today and emphasised on the need of developing skills in order to gain employment in people centric industries like aviation, airport management services, hospitality sector in India and abroad, and cruise lines.
He explained that under the Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY) scheme, various trainings and skills in those sectors have been imparted including job placements for educated unemployed youth.
The second workshop on ‘Career awareness’ was conducted by Jetking, India’s leading digital skills institute and a pioneer in information technology that offers 100% job placements.
Jetkings marketing coordinator, Rohit Yadav, who conducted the workshop, highlighted on the ‘Digital revolution’ that is happening today and the need for adaptation with various operational activities and cities going smart. He informed about the courses offered by Jetking in hardware networking and software courses with new technologies.
The two workshops were received with much enthusiasm and appreciation by the students. The workshops was organised by career counselling and placement cell and sponsored by IQAC, Dimapur Government College.
