
Dimapur, July 9 (EMN): Dimapur Government College has bade farewell to its retiring principal Dr. Moanochet Longchar during a programme organised in his honour on July 9.
Welcoming the gathering, associate professor and HoD of English department, Mithu Longkumer, spoke of Dr.Moanochet Longchar's tenure in the college as 'short and sweet but impactful,' and update from the publicity and media cell stated.
Farewell speeches were delivered by IQAC coordinator, Dr. Vitsosie Vupru, and the vice principal, Kezhaleu Hesso, while Tinuwangshi, LDA, spoke on behalf of the ministerial staff.
The various speakers have commended Dr. Moanochet Longchar for his sincerity and humility. They highlighted numerous arenas in which the college has moved forward during his brief session as principal which included preparation for the all-important NAAC peer team visit. Speakers also expressed their gratitude of the DGC family to be associated with such an ‘unassuming but inspiring personality.’
In his farewell speech, Dr. Moanochet Longchar stated that he concluded his career with a deep sense of fulfilment and no regrets. He thanked the faculty, staff and students of DGC for their support and co-operation while working together towards fulfilling the dreams of the college. He also thanked his wife for journeying with him through his long career and credited her for all the achievement. He further conveyed best wishes to the college for the upcoming peer team visit. The programme concluded with a prayer said by assistant professor of English Suzzana Yaden.
