Dimapur, Sep. 5 (EMN): The trophy of Dimapur Football League (DFL) and jerseys of the participating clubs were was unveiled at the Tourist Lodge in Dimapur on Wednesday.
An update from DFL, media and publicity cell stated that a the joint meeting was held with the organisers and eight participating clubs along with the Dimapur District Football Association (DDFA) and Dimapur District Football Referee Association (DDFRA).
During the meeting, DFL Convenor, Shiyeto Wotsa briefed the club members about the various rules and regulations of the league and said that the organisers were trying its best to promote football and players. He requested all clubs to come in full uniform during the opening ceremony to be held on Sep. 14 at the DDSC Stadium at 1 pm where Minister for Higher & Technical Education Temjen Imna Along Longkumer will be the special invitee. Shiyeto disclosed that there would be six individual prizes including best goalkeeper, midfielder, defender, highest scorer, young emerging player, and man of the tournament.
DDFA Vice President, Tsenthungo Lotha also said that the DFL has been placed in safe hands under the leadership of Shiyeto as the convenor. He said that the DFL was for upcoming players and urged all participating clubs to maintain discipline and uplift the status of DFL.
DDFRA President, Shiyito appealed for support and cooperation from all the clubs during the tournament. He also distributed by-laws for the tournament, the update stated.
