Analysed that Nagas by nature are reactive to change. Lethargic mentality is predominant and generally inclines to confining under comfort zone of life. Nagas Negates things and hard to accept new things. Could it be that Nagas are yet to see the light of reasoning and refuse to accept renaissance of the age. Proud mentality hinders them from growing into fullness of human persons. Nagas are weak or wrong in taking politic. Peoples’ Visionary politic seems lacking. The above given propositions are meant for inductive analysis and deductive reasoning intended to draw a line of clear understanding what make or mar the Naga society. Here no party or person is considered or beleaguered.Reasoned that, Naga society is failing one big thing in life. God centred living and thinking. Self centeredness is predominant attitude governing the life of the society. The kind of civic Naga society ought to be morally centred principled society. It is high time for the Nagas to change their mental outlook on general social life; Perceived that Nagas by and large are more nihilists and sceptics; negating thing and are not pleased about change and development that are new to them.
When others are doing better or new things they resent and tend to reject whereas they themselves could not even think of doing or dream of. In the world of nihilists and sceptics, all new development appears wrong or inappropriate, fanciful dreams, whimsical and unrealistic; building a castle in the air. Therefore, development is real hard thing in Nagas’ land. Looking back to the past and Congress regime in the state, many developmental projects have been planted but plunged into non-operation because of the facts that, positive mental faith and patience for harvest was lacking.
Many opposed or destroyed good projects for want of faith and patience in the fruition of plan planted. Therefore, many industries and factories lay wasted and unproductive. The present Government appears to be the blame dustbin of the past, and could not produce or proceeds further projection of any new development plan or project. Many stand ready to oppose or destroy any plan project for development. In Nagaland opposing forces are seen to be stronger than the building forces. Nihilists and sceptics are main power force to destroy all that are projected for common good.
Today good citizens are good as mute spectators only watching evil things happen at the face. Real good citizens are few and could not display a courageous risk to change the evil design because, each time they do good, hundred-fold blames for the failures falls upon them, even threaten their lives. When disappointed good citizens sit back, crooks behave good leaders in the society. The fact is the social scenario of the Naga society. What shall we do then in such desperate situation?
To develop, allow things to happen no matter how impossible it may appear to be. For instance, the past Soviet Union undertook a nation-wide program on industrialization, many politicians of the capitalist world strongly opposed and condemned such projects and branded as utopian dreams or futile exercise only to harvest failure and vain.
But years later those nihilists and sceptics were put to shame by the sight of development seen and the world have proved beyond a shadow of doubt that Soviet Union became a powerful industrial nation in the world. There are broadly two classes of people in every society; one nihilist and the other optimist. The former opposes, the later composes. One destroys the other builds. Human perceives development in two aspects: one is of necessity and the other as chance.
The Soviet Union has blazed the trail of development in 1957 when the first Spunik spacecraft was launched proving the world of the invention out of necessity and not by chance or accidental. Western bourgeois propagandists alleged that it was only by chance and rare accidental success. Similar example may be considered in order to understand that great things happen not by chance or by accident but of aspiration and positive determination of those who dare to dream and do. Neil Armstrong landed on the moon and humanity is amazed at the sight and the news. His daring adventure has lifted humanity to a great height of world civilisation. Soviet scientist Tsiolkovsky worked out the theory of space travel and it became a reality. T
he fear of accident is lost at the face of the daring planners of the world. Thomas Alva Edison discovered electricity and the whole humanity benefited. He was most ridiculed and his idea of developing light was doubted and rejected. But the world later realized his genius. For those nihilists, all great initiatives are things of impossible and they opposes whereas those positive dreamers make things happen at the face of the opposing world.
What comparison and inspiration can be drawn for the contemporary Naga society? Nagas too can dream and make great things happen in their history. Perceives that opposing forces are creating major problems that the society could not but conditioned under it. Reasoned that, majority people are not stronger doers but are comfortable group. Whereas minority group are restless strugglers for survival.
The real difficulty for the poor is the dominating rich controlling them in every respect. Money and not morale is taken to be the sole mean and objective of living. The end result is demoralisation. An immoral social order can never make a healthy society.
The answer to resolve the problems facing individual and society is to change the mind from negative thinking pattern to positive faith in action. Napoleon Hills stated; “the greatest discovery of the present generation is human life can be altered by altering his mind.” “A positive mind finds a way it can be done; a negative mind looks for all the ways it can’t be done.”
