Dimapur, Sep. 28 (EMN): Governor of Nagaland PB Acharya said the need of the hour was to work towards the development of north eastern states in the country. As India gets recognised as a formidable force in the world, he said there is an urgent need for connecting the north eastern states, so that there is equal growth in all parts of the country.
The governor was addressing the Deccan Chamber of Commerce Industries and Agriculture, Pune annual award function as the chief guest on Sep. 27 at Hyatt Regency in Pune.
Acharya called on industrialists to play their role in emotional integration and stated that business and commerce have a social responsibility to perform. He opined that the concept of profit-making has changed to corporate responsibility and that it was an era where social issues and problems intersect with business community. He urged the DCCIA to come forward and take pro-active part in the various programmes initiated by the Government of India such as Clean India, Digital India, Start up India and make in India.
Awards for public service, industrialist and social service were also given on the occasion.
