DIMAPUR — The opening ceremony of the third Open Volleyball Tournament, organised by Dobagaon Eralibill Sumi Students’ Union (DESSU), was held at Eralibill on Thursday with Hutokhu Awomi, Class 1 contractor as the special guest.
In his address, the special guest urged the players to participate in the tournament by celebrating the value of a true sportsmanship, while emphasising that sports is also a platform for a person to learn, strive and succeed in life, an update stated.
Awomi also exhorted the young players to be disciplined, respect each other’s ability and embrace the essence of sports in one’s life.
All together, 14 teams are participating in the tournament which will culminate on October 4.
