Desi Rewind from Mokokchung emerged as the winner of this year’s Fusion of the Bands organised by 3 Corps Indian Army

DIMAPUR — Desi Rewind, a Mokokchung-based band, emerged as the winner of Fusion of the Bands season 3 which was organised by the 3 Corps under the Indian Army’s Operation Sadbhavna.
The grand finale of the Fusion of the Bands, a Hindi music talent hunt, was held at Bhagat Stadium, Rangapahar Military Station in Dimapur on Saturday.
The finale featured six bands performing before a large audience.

Governor of Manipur and Nagaland AK Bhalla graced the event as chief guest, accompanied by General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the 3 Corps (Spear Corps), Lt. Gen Abhijit S. Pendharkar, and former Governor and Chief Minister Dr S.C. Jamir.
Desi Rewind won a cash prize of INR 3 lakh. Jack in the Box who won first runners-up received a cash award of INR 2.5 lakh, while NTTB who won the second runners-up, won a cash prize of INR 1.5 lakh.
Judges for the final round were Bethel, Arenlong and Akum Jamir.
The talent hunt followed a three-stage selection process drawing participation from across Nagaland.
Out of the 35 bands auditioned for the preliminary round which was conducted online, 12 bands—After Party, NTTB, Suhani, Desi Rewind, Sonder, Rock Revolt, Jack in the Box, The Muse, The Rusty Garden, Riff Collective, Symphonia and Midnight Radio—were shortlisted for the semi-finals.
The semi-finals were held live on January 29 at the Manekshaw Auditorium, Rangapahar. After Party, NTTB, The Muse, Rock Revolt, Jack in the Box and Desi Rewind advanced to the finals.
The Muse received a special encouragement award, with the Governor presenting the five-member band—led by a 10-year-old vocalist and featuring 13-year-old musicians—with a INR 30,000 cash prize.
The evening also featured performances by guest artistes, including social media sensation Agu Kath, the Mahila Police Band of the 15th NAP (IR), and CoZye, a beatbox-and-guitar duo.
