- DIMAPUR — The
deputy commissioner (DC) of Mon, Wennyei Konyak, visited Tizit and held a
coordination meeting with GBs, representatives of civil societies and other
government officials at ADC’s conference hall on Thursday.
- Assessing the prevailing law and order situation and to
maintain peaceful relationship with neighbouring state, the DC urged the
gathering to maintain calm and be rational during any given situation. He
emphasised on resolving issues through mutual understanding and dialogue with
counterparts, a DIPR report stated.

- He also felt the need to regulate and monitor social media
users, stating that unverified information could create or escalate unnecessary
tensions. He further urged the residents of the sub-division to take up various
forms of farming, highlighting that region's soil and climate are favourable
for cultivating wide variety of crops.
- After the meeting, the DC along with ADC of Mon, ADC of
Tizit, and SP of Mon paid a courtesy visit to deputy commissioner of Charaideo,
Assam, Dr. Neha Yadav, in Sonari and held a short meeting aimed at fostering
goodwill between the two neighbouring districts.
