DIMAPUR — Deputy Chief Minister Y Patton on Tuesday visited markets in Kohima as part of the ongoing GST Bachat Utsav campaign.
In a press release, the media cell of the Deputy CM stated that the campaign, being held under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi , seeks to spread awareness about the benefits of GST reforms across the country.
During the visit, Patton interacted with shopkeepers and traders, sharing how GST reforms have made the tax system simpler, reduced the burden on small businesses, and ensured that citizens receive goods and services at fairer prices. He also shared that these measures are helping both trade and the wider economy move forward with greater strength.
“Shopkeepers expressed their support by echoing the message of ‘Garv Se Kaho, Yah Swadeshi Hai,’ showing pride in local enterprise and commitment towards a self-reliant India.

“The deputy chief minister noted that this campaign is not only about reducing the tax burden on traders but also about ensuring that the benefits reach the citizens directly,” the release stated.
Patton also presented the shopkeepers with flowers and promotional items.
