
Y Patton during a surprise inspection at Civil Secretariat
on Thursday.
- DIMAPUR — Deputy Chief Minister, Y Patton, who
holds the Home portfolio also, conducted a “surprise check” of branches in Home
department at Nagaland Civil Secretariat in Kohima on Thursday.
- On March 26, Nagaland government had issued an order warning
that surprise checks would be conducted inside the Nagaland Civil Secretariat
to deal with the problem of “less than satisfactory attendance.”

- “The Deputy Chief Minister (Home) took strong exception to
those officials who were found absent without proper leave. He further directed
the officers that action as per the principle of No Work No Pay as contained in
government of Nagaland OM No. AR-13/5/89 dated 5th September, 1994 be strictly
imposed,” stated a press release.
- Patton further warned that similar checks would be conducted
across all departments in the coming days.
