Dimapur, July 3 (EMN): The department of Women Resources Development has asked government departments to institute a redress cell to address complaints of sexual harassment at workplace. This move is in pursuance of the objectives envisaged in section-4 of the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act of 2013, updates stated on July 3. The government’s publicity agency, the department of Information and Public Relations (IPR), issued updates on Wednesday about the committee. Instituting the internal committee desk has been made obligatory in every workplace, directorate, nongovernmental organisation, autonomous bodies and organisation. It is to provide protection and redress complaints of sexual harassment against women cases in the state, the IPR stated. All the government departments in Nagaland are requested to take action accordingly and to report it to the department at the earliest for onward submission to the ministry of Women & Child Development, the IPR added.
