A two-day capacity building programme on the topic of ‘commodity futures market ‘ for officials of the state government was organized by NABARD Consultancy Services Pvt Ltd on October 13 and the 14th in Dimapur. After the participants were briefed on the aims and objectives of the programme conducted on behalf of Forward Markets Commission (FMC), General Manager of NABARD V. Chelladurai stressed on the importance of the programme for capacity-building as well as awareness creation for the stake-holders in the state.
Saugata Sengupta of Multi Commodity Exchange of India Ltd in Kolkata was the resource person of the programme. He explained the historical background, regulatory framework and other / various aspects of Commodity Futures Market.
The programme was attended by officials from ICAR, Central Institute of Horticulture, Land Resources Department, Soil & Water Conservation department, Horticulture department, Sericulture department, Rural development, Nagaland Beekeeping & Honey Mission, Nagaland Bamboo Development Agency, among others.
