Department of Animal Husbandry and Dairying GoI deputes monitors to Peren, Dimapur

Officials from DAHD during the state briefing meeting in
Kohima on May 28.
- DIMAPUR — Two national-level monitors (NLMs)
were deputed by the Department of Animal Husbandry and Dairying (DAHD), Government
of India, to visit and monitor the National Livestock Mission Scheme from May
28 to the 31st in two districts, Peren and Dimapur.
- According to an update, a state briefing meeting was held at
the conference hall of the Directorate of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary
Services (AH&VS), Kohima, chaired by Vikeyie Kenya, Commissioner and
Secretary, Department of AH&VS, with the presence of MD Sharma, Assistant
Director, Indian Statistical Service, and two NLMs, Dr. Rishipal Singh and Dr.
Lalit Joshi.
- Officers from the Directorate of AH&VS, along with the
concerned officials of DAHD, joined via online mode.
- The meeting commenced with a welcome address by Kenya. The
nodal officers of the various CS and CSS schemes presented the current status
of the schemes implemented in Nagaland.
- The briefing session of NLMs aimed to review the selected
projects implemented through the Department of AH&VS, namely the National
Livestock Mission in the state of Nagaland.
- It was mentioned that after the briefing session, the team
visited an entrepreneur in the Kohima district and proceeded to Dimapur for
further inspection.
- The NLMs will be in the state for four days to monitor,
evaluate, and suggest measures for the smooth running of the programme in the
future. They will visit Peren and Dimapur districts for field-level evaluation
and monitoring.
